Minnesota Churches
- Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Moorehead, MN celebrated a whole week of eco-justice events leading up to Earth

Sunday 2011. Monday they hosted a screening and discussion of "An Inconvenient Truth." The next day, the church began a six-week adult education series from Blessed Earth called "Hope for Creation." On Thursday, the church partnered with a local organization called River Keepers who offered a build-your-own rain barrel workshop. The church invited other churches in the community to participate in the workshop as well. For Earth Day Sunday 2011, the church will use the"Eco-Justice as Community" liturgical resources by the NCC Eco-Justice Programs and have a local expert in creation care (from Presbyterians for Earth Care)
provide the message during service. The youth education hour is entirely focused on the Earth Sunday theme and students and families will participate with the congregation in earth day crafts, nature walks, scavenger hunts, and science projects. Our Community Education and local recycling programs as well as the River Keepers organization are also providing materials and information to hand out that day to encourage people to get involved in the community. A local branch of
Starbucks has donated fair trade coffee for fellowship time as well as a barrel of coffee grounds for people to take home to put in their gardens. Worhip will be followed by an Earth Sunday picnic celebration, catered by a local restaurant using biodegradable dishware. There will be several drawings and eco-prizes. They are working on a short documentary-style video about what people in our faith community and wider community do to be good stewards of creation, and why it is important to them.
