Mindful Living
Mindful Living: Human Health, Pollution and Toxics
The choices we make for our families and the way we care for God’s earth are intricately related to human health and the health of all creation. Today, pollutants and toxic chemicals are in the air we breathe, the food we eat, the toys we play with, and the products that make our lives faster and more convenient.
These contaminants can cause health conditions ranging from asthma to cancer. While we are all susceptible to these conditions, children, women, communities of color and low income communities, and God’s creation are particularly vulnerable. Ridding our world of pollution and toxics is an urgent issue of justice that calls for witness and action from the faith community.
