Rebuilding New Orleans Trainings: Spring 2006

Green Building Training: In May 2006, in cooperation with Carollton United Methodist Church, a training was held in New Orleans, Louisiana, for clergy and lay leaders interested in rebuilding using sustainable techniques. Presentations featured energy efficiency information and cost-saving "green" building practices.

Clergy Listening Session: In March 2006, the Council sponsored a listening session between clergy and green building experts to help determine opportunities for green church rebuilding in the Gulf Region. The event produced content suggestions for future training sessions and helped identify the needs of churches in the region.

Chicago Illinois Training: August 2005

Religious institution leaders (camp and conference center ministry leaders, judicatory leaders, clergy and denominational staff) gathered in Chicago, IL, on Wednesday, June 29, 2005, for "Money for Mission: Greening Initiatives that Make Cents." The event was designed to help church leaders incorporate environmentally sustainable practices in their institutions and increase environmental stewardship while reducing financial burdens.
