Speakers

Lisa Magnuson, Senior Director, Silver Spring Networks
LisaLisa brings over 20 years of technology marketing experience to Silver Spring Networks and has been instrumental in helping to successfully launch the company into the utility networking market. Lisa is responsible for Silver Spring’s corporate identity, web presence, collateral development, public relations and consumer education programs. She has served on the organizing committee of GridWeek and Smart Energy International and is the current co-chair of the Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative’s marketing and PR committee. Prior to Silver Spring, Lisa worked with some of the top brands in the industry, helping to build innovative marketing communication platforms for such companies as Apple, NeXT, Ascend and Cisco, to name a few. Lisa holds a BA from Duke University. She and her family are avid supporters of reduce, reuse, recycle in their daily lives.

Ruben Aronin - Director, Communications and Donor Relations, Global Green

RubenRuben Aronin oversees strategic messaging initiatives for Global Green and implements all of its media campaigns. Previously, Ruben served as the Executive Director of the Earth Communications Office, an international non-profit organization based in the Hollywood community. He has more than a decade of experience in the environmental field and in non-profit management. Ruben has overseen more than a dozen international communications campaigns that have reached over a billion people worldwide and has led celebrity delegations for press events at the United Nations, Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, and on Capitol Hill. Ruben currently serves on the national steering committee of the Apollo Alliance, the Board of ECO India and Advocacy Arts, and the Advisory Boards of LOHAS and Ciceana. Prior to his environmental work, he worked for President Clinton's inaugural celebration and for Congressman Christopher Shays.

Rev. Michael Livingston, Director, National Council of Churches Poverty Initiative

MichaelMichael is the former Executive Director of the International Council of Community Churches. Rev. Livingston is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles and received his Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary. Ordained in the Presbyterian Church, USA, he recently chaired the General Assembly Committee on Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations. A committed ecumenist, he has been a member of the Executive Board of the National Council of Churches since 1999 and a member of the Board of Church World Service since 2001. Alongside his professional engagements, Rev. Livingston has been a community activist providing leadership to interfaith and interracial community organizations and membership on a variety of community efforts from local development corporations to broad based community service organizations. He is currently the founding board member and chairperson of The New Jersey Teen Parent Initiative, an effort to provide comprehensive support for unwed teenage mothers and their children. Throughout his career as a pastor, ecumenist, denominational leader, and author, Rev. Livingston has maintained a passion for ministry to the “least of these” among us.
