NCC Biennial Conference:
Eco-Justice for All: God's People, God's Planet
June 1-4, 2006
Loyola University, New Orleans, Lousiana
Join this ecumenical gathering of communion/denominational staff,
clergy, seminarians, lay leaders, church educators, eco-justice
coordinators, young adults, and Christians with eco-concerns to
explore the connections of ecological, economic, and social justice
for all God’s Creation. Training tracks, open workshops, inspiring
plenaries, hands-on experiences, and worship will provide pathways
to connect to Christians involved in eco-justice ministries, to
share new ideas, and to return home ready to pursue eco-justice
in the classroom, with decision-makers, in the pulpit, in our homes,
and in the streets. Download the registration
brochure.

Pre-Conference Offerings:
Tabling and poster sessions:
using a successful model from the scientific community, we invite
individuals and organizations to create a visual presentation and
display on the topic of their interest. Displays might include facts,
figures, pictures, charts, books, cloth, and whatever creative elements
make most sense. Conference participants will be invited to attend
the poster sessions, during which they will informally tour the
room and view displays. Each person staffing a poster session should
be being willing and able to explain the display, share more stories
and information verbally, and answer questions. (There is no charge
for an individual/organization to display if already registered
for the conference.) To register a table or poster session, contact
Rebecca Barnes-Davies at prc@sfts.edu
Open Space workshops:
Sat June 3, beginning at 3:30pm "Open space technology"
is a way to open a conference to presentations, discussions, and
workshops that have not been pre-arranged by event planners. Open
space leaders take ownership for planning a workshop, hosting a
discussion, or leading a group in a particular topic/theme. They
list their workshop in a designated “open space” sign-up
area, matching it with a meeting space and meeting time. Conference
participants will choose from the sign-ups which of the open space(s)
they will attend that afternoon.
