God of Light and God of Love,
God who hung the stars above,
Thank you for the planet Earth,
Where the baby Jesus had his birth.

To honor him, we care for her,
Keeping clean the water, soil, and air.
We hear Creation’s warning call
From fish, and bugs, and critters all.

We are your hands here in this place
Where everywhere we see your face
Creation care is what we do
For people and Creation too!
Amen

A Child’s Creation

For rich brown soil beneath my feet
For oceans wide and waters sweet
For skies of blue and pink and red
For stars and moon and sun overhead

For moss and grass and flowers and trees
For fruits and grains and roots and seeds
For insects, fish, shells, and sand
For frogs and snakes and tortoise grand

For birds that swoop and glide and soar
For joy of mouse and squirrel and boar
For cats and bears and monkeys too
For all that helps me know of You

I thank Thee, Lord, and give Thee praise
To know Thy love in all these ways
In Thy Creation I am blessed
To work and play, to sleep and rest

And pray Thy tender care to give
That all this Earth may thrive and live
In wisdom as we find our place
That we may know Thy love and grace
